West National Finals August 22nd -24th City of Industry, California Attention IBRA WEST Members Due to the National Finals entry deadline being scheduled before the season was over there seems to be a lot of confusion on who are State Qualifiers. Some shows are still not turned in so we still don't know the final standings. Therefore for this YEAR ONLY and in the WEST ONLY we are allowing All 2008 members to come enter late and try to qualify for the short go. Our Top Dogs will still already be qualified for the Short Go and we will drop down past them and non-members in each round to get our top ten in each division each day.Next year the finals will be at a later date. So Come one come all, enter late $20 late fee will still apply and non-members welcome to run for the day money, But why not join for 2009 and run for IBRA Bonus Bucks and 2009 points!!! The weather has been close to perfect in California, but the competition is heating up as we draw close to the end of the 2008 season. Thank you to the California members for supporting our races and for being a part of the IBRA organization.

Sharon in the office has been great to work with and does her best to get the site updated as soon as she receives the information. Thank you to everyone for your patience with the results. We do our best to get them to you as soon as possible.
As the season winds down, we are in need of award sponsors. The economy is a little tough on everyone right now and I know the rising fuel costs have everyone taking a second look at where their money is being spent. The IBRA offers great advertising opportunities for our sponsors. Both in print material, web exposure with link availability and of course the leather Top 5 jackets! I need some help from the members this year. As you know the IBRA does not require that each member brings a sponsorship to the table, but those that do will have their names put in a drawing for a beautiful silver headstall to be given away at the 08 Awards banquet on Friday September 19th. Monetary sponsorships are necessary to make this Awards package the best ever yet! Please mail sponsor checks to me, payable to IBRA-CA. Check out the standings for the 2008 season, it’s nice to see riders from throughout Southern CA in the Top 5 and Top 20 holes! Remember the Western Finals! Top Dogs (CA top 5 at year-end) and the Top 20 will be automatically qualified for the Short go at the City of Industry Finals! You don’t make another run, simply rollover your Sunday open time from the Open to the short go and win the cash!! No entry fees – just added $$! This is a great incentive for members!

Benefit for Bess Chaney – June 21 at Casner Ranch in Temecula. Proceeds from this race will go to benefit Bess and the therapy costs associated with her recent injuries.
Thank you Thank you!! To all of you that attended and supported the April 19th Benefit for Linda Stenerson and family. Proceeds from this race and contributions totaled just over $3000 and it meant a lot to Bruce and Linda! Thanks again for all the great silent auction items!
July 4th & 5th race – This 2 day race will be at the Riverside Rancheros and will boast $500 added per day plus average buckles to Open and awards to Masters, Youth and Peewee. Remember to dress according to cowgirl code! Long sleeves and hat please. This will be a professional jackpot run by barrel racers for barrel racers and approved also by the WPRA.
So many things going on! But please mark your calendars and get ready for the Hot Summer Nights races at the Ramona Rodeo grounds starting July 19th! This will be a buckles average series again and another great awards package!
2008 Awards Dinner Friday September 19th at the Bernardo Winery 6pm Dinner 7pm Awards – Catered with Cash Wine Bar (Beer too!) Will be taking reservations soon – watch for details!!
